The European Food Information Council (EUFIC)
The European Food Information Council (EUFIC), is a consumer-oriented non-profit organisation, founded to make the science behind food and health more accessible and easier to understand among the public.
As a team of scientist and science communicators, we work towards four long-term goals: building food and health science literacy, facilitating the healthy and sustainable diet shift, supporting the prevention of chronic diseases, and empowering food waste reduction. By drawing on evidence from peer-reviewed research and authoritative sources, as well as conducting consumer research, EUFIC creates engaging content, outreach, and communication activities to inform and empower consumers, health professionals, science communicators, and other stakeholders.
Contribution to EmerGO
EUFIC leads activities related to consumer engagement. Together with industry, NGOs, and consumers, EUFIC will co-design communication tools and awareness-raising campaigns to enhance consumers’ knowledge about pollutants originating from the food and drink industry. EUFIC will also develop multi-country surveys to assess the effectiveness and impact of these communication activities.
